prehend him, Henry Williams, the ne-
fro who burglarized ML J. A. Por
ter’s residence about three weeks ago,
is still at large. He was located in a
house at Hardeeville last week,, but
made his escape from the officers of
the law, who bred several shots at
him before he entered a nearby
swamp. His wife, who was in the
house at the lime, was arrested and
lodged in the Barnwell jail, charged
with complicity.

Blackville, Oct. 30.—One of the
most beautiful and impressive wed
dings of the season was that of Miss
Corene Sandifer to John Walter
Coney, which was solemnized at high
noon, Tuesdayv October 19. The
beauty of the wedding was enhanced
by the tasteful arrangement of
palms, ferns and white and pink
dahlias which formed an appropriate
background for the pink and white
dahlias which were arranged to form
an arch. To the strains of Mendel
ssohn’s wedding march, played by
Mrs. Harry Free, a cousin of the
bride, the bride entered on the arm of
her father by whom she was given in
marriage. Her blond complexion
showed to advantage in lustrous
satin. She carried a bouquet of
bride roars and fern. She was met
at the altar by tha bride-groom and
bis father, where the ceremony was
perform*d by the Rev. Mr. Whiteside.

The Barnwell People hat taken an
advanced step in the elimination of
its ready print service. This means
that the People is now printed entire
ly in Barnwell, and is, therefore, an
entirely home product. The People
explains that heretofore it has not
had sufficient advertising patronage
to warrant printing its whole paper
at home, but that its patronage has
recently increased to such an extent
that hereafter the whole paper will
be printed in its own office. We con
gratulate The People on its prosperi
ty. In this connection we might say/
that the Bamberg Herald has been a
home printed paper for the last fif
teen years, and is now the only paper
in the county setting all its own type
and doing its own press work. The
people of Bamberg long ago realized
the benefits attached to having
modem paper and have given liberal
