Anderson.—Miss Will Lou Gray is
here to assist Miss Lilian Shirley in
getting the illiteracy schools for Au
gust in shape. Mise Shirley has 39
teachers who will teach the “Lay-by”
schools. Anderson county had the
second largest enrollment last summer
and had the teacher who made the
highest score, having taught 58 peo
ple during the one month. This was
Miss Eva Smith of the Centerville dis
trict. Miss Shirley uays that she in
tends to clip another thousand off the
illiterate list from Anderson county
this summer.
The first annual meeting of the
