large haul. Joe Galloway, white, was
arrested by Chief Weatherford and the
chief got 24 quarts of case whiskey.

caterpillar does the mllllon-dollar
damage. A number of these worms
will strip most of the leaves from a

small worm evidently just hatched,

Greenville—Official reports were
made that the finance committee of
the atty council baa agreed that the
Southern Public Utltlitee company
aheuld be allowed to advance local
gas rates. The committee resumed
its session to determine upon tbe ex

company, which owns and operated
street railway, gas and electric plants
has petitioned the Greenville council
to advance the gas rates here from
