During the Mrtke. material wai brought in bv trucks, boats, electric freight and everv other possible wav. but
it served mainly to keep l^>rd men at work, rather than to maintain any semblance of the regular output. As*
aembled cars were shipped bv water where possible, but most of them were driven from Detroit to their desti*
nation. Many F ord trucks loaded each with a Fordson tractor started from Dearborn for Eastern. Southern and
Mid-Western points.
