Washington, April 25.—Henry Breckinridge, assistant secretary of war during the incumbency of Sec retary Garrison and who served in France as a lieutenant colonel of in fantry, made public tonight a letter to the chairmen of house and senate committees dealing with soldier bonus legislation emphatically opposing any such proposals. These men are not experienced broxilers, but the breetling is cuided by a man who is perhaps the most experienced breeder in the county, or community. The assessment per cow was at first $5.00 It was thought advisable to raise this to $7.50. but before doing so the fact was made public that up to a certain date new members would be accepted at the old rate; and at that time 4”* persons joined the association. The above is a part of a weekly news letter article of April 14th, 1920, which goes on to say that the asso ciation was offered $10,000 for one of their bulls and tells many other interesting things of value that this association has done. Why can’t* we in Barnwell County have an association like this one? We hope to be able to organize such an association during this year, so will begin work at once.
