Florence,—The Dank of Florence Is
distributing checks to its ordinal
stockholders representing • 100 per
cent, dividend on their stockholdings.
This extraordinary dividend was de
cided upon at a recent meeting of the
board of directors of the institution at
which it was determined to increase
the capital stock from $50,000 to $100,*
000. Stock certificates for the new
subscribers are A also being issued.
This is the second time the Bank of
Florence has declared a 100 per cent
dividend, the first being in 1905. It
has paid other dividends each year
amounting to fiom eight to 20 per
cent.. The Bank of Florence is the
oldest bank In the county. The divi
dend which was announced has creat
ed great interest in business and
banking circules. W. J. Brown is
president of the bank.

rejuvenation and reorganization of
the chamber of commerce will take
place. The new secretary,. Walter J.
Johnson, who arrived several days
ago from Savannah, will be offically
introduced and he is eapected to out

% cup milk or half milk and

Sift together flour, baking pow
der and salt, add shortening and
rub in very lightly; add liquid
slowly; roll or pat on floured
