S tablespoons shortening
Mix and rift dry ingredi
ents; add milk and melted
shortening; beat weH. Bake
on slightly greased hot grid

Griddle Cakea with Egga
1% cupe flour
V4 teaspoon salt

Bake on hot greased griddle.

1 eggs
1 tablespoon melted shorten

Sift flour, hairing powder
and salt together; add milk
to yolks of eggs; mix thor
oughly and add to dry in
gredients; add melted riiort-
ening and mix in beaten
whites of eggs. Bake in well
greased hot waffle iron un
til brown. Serve hot with
maple syrup. It should take
about minutes to bake
each wafhe.
