WHEREAS, a petition in writing of
a majority of the freeholders of the
Town of Bam will, S. as shown by
the tax duplicates of said team for
the current year 1919, has been pre
sented to the Town Council and filed
with the Clerk and Treasurer of said
Town on the 9th day * of March,1920,
praying that an election may be or
dered, to be held at the time and in
the manner provided by law, upon the
question of issuing coupon bonds of
the Town of Barnwell, S. C. to an
amount not exceeding $45,000.00,
bearing interest at a rate not to ex
ceed 6 per cent, per annum, payable
in any legal tender money of the
United States forty years after date,
with the privilege of redemption after
twenty years from date, for the pur
pose of erecting, installing and en
larging a waterworks system in the
Town of Barnwell, for the use and
benefit of said town and of the citi
zens thereof; and also at the same
time and place, upon the question of
issuing coupon bonds of the Town of
Barnwell, S. C. to an amount not ex
ceeding the sum of $40,000.00, bear-
