C. to an amount not ex* reeding the sum of $40,000.00, bear ing interest at a rate of interest not to exceed 6 per cent, per annum, pay able in any legal tender money of the United States forty years after date, with the privilege of redemption af ter twenty years from date, for the purpose of erectirtg, installing and en larging a sewerage system in the Town of Barnwell, for the use ^ and benefit of said town and of the citi zens thereof; and also at the same time and place, upon the question of issuing coupon bonds of the Town of Barnwell, S. C. to pn amount not to exceed the sum of $25,000.00, bear ing interest at a rate not to exceed 6 per cent, per annum, payable in any legal tender money of the United States, maturing not to exceed twenty years after date of issue, or the ma turity of said bonds to be determined by the Town Council of the Town of Barnwell, for the purpose of paving the streets within the corporate lim its of the Town of BamWell, for the use and benefit of said town and of the citizens thereof; and, WHEREAS, it appears upon an in spection of the tax books of said Towm of Barnwell, and from the certifi cates of the Clerk end Treasurer of the Town of Barnwell, and of the committee appointed to examine the same, that said petition is duly sign ed by a majority of the freeholders of the Town of Barnwell; NOW. One for receiving the ballots upon the question of sewerage system bonds. One for receiving the ballots upon the question of street paving bonds. One for receiving the ballots for Commissioners of Public Works. Each ballot box will be plainly marked, so as to indicate the nature of the ballots to be deposited therein. That due notice of said special elec tion, of the objects and purposes thereof, and of the time and place of holding the syne shall be given by the Clerk and Treasurer of the Town of Barnwell by publication thereof for at least three weeks previous to the time appointed for holding the same.
