‘Time to Call a Halt”
“Hearty congratulations on ‘Time
to Call a Halt.’ The town needs just
such a live newspaper man as you to
publish these things. Probably with
a few more ‘Halts’ from The” Barn
well People . . . so, Mr. Ed
itor, let us hear from you, please.”
The editor appreciates the encour
agement contained in the above com- » •••»— —
munication, which was received years
week. It was unsigned, however, and
for that reason certain parts have
been “deleted by the censor.”
The life of the average newspaper
man is no bed of roses, both finan
cially and otherwise, and to be told,
even occasionally, that his efforts in
behalf of the community are appre
ciated by some of his readers makes
up in large measure for the vast a-
mount of criticism of his various
shortcomings.
One of the best ways to “swat the
fly” is to vote for the bond issue that
will furnish the money to install a
much needed sewerage system.
/Help Barnwell keep its place as
the best town ta Western Carolina
by supporting the hood issue for
and paving.

But does he keep it there? He does not. The
