If they were good enough to fight
and die for ua when we needed their
help so sorely, they are good enough
now to share some menger little
crumbs from our plenty when they
have nothing, when hundreds of thou
sands of them are homeless, unclad,
foodless and threatened with extermi
nation by their enemies and our own.
Not far from a million Christians
have been murdered by their Turkish
oppressors. Hungry, terror stricken
hundreds of thousands of refugees

The reception hall and parlor were
decorated beautifully with fema and
blooming narcissus, and on going in
the dining room one found it looked
like a real fairyland. ^ A canopy of
pink and green tulle came down from
the lights to the table, with beautiful
bows tied at the end. On either side
of the bowg were lovely dishes of pink
and green mints.
Spanish ’ cream, cake hearts and
mints were served by Misses Sara
Neeley, Baine Freeman and Eunice
Cogbiirn, the color scheme being car
ried out in the refreshments.

sed in a dark blue velvet Eton suit,
brought In a wagon, artistically dec

by Miss Sadie Harter and the young
women present joined in singing pop
ular airs.. About 65 guests were pres
ent and Mro. Hartzog, as usual, was
a most charming and attractive hos
tess.
