Readers of Tha People have
no doubt ncticed that for the i
pnst two yean very, very few \
Probate Court notices have ap- <
peared in this paper. In fact !
they have been conspicious by J
their absence and The people ]
requests those of its friends
who may, in the future, have
Probate Court notices that they
wish to appear in this paper to
notify the publisher in addition
to so instructing the Judge of
Probate. It appears that in more
than one instance such instruc
tions have been forgotten and
the notices appeared in a paper
other than The People. If the
publisher of The People is noti- «►
fied that^ a certain notice has
been ordered to appear in this
paper, he will not forget it and
will take special pains to see
that it appears as ordered.
Just bear this in mind, please,
and remember that we will not
forget such little matters, no
matter how others may suffer
from lapses of memory.
Now, who says everybody is profi
teering? Postmaster Deason will
still sell you a two-ccnt stamp for
two cents.

If Bamum were alive today he
would round up the people of our
large cities, herd them together un
der a show tent with the other ani
mals, and clean up another fortune

If others insist upon rushing head-
on to their own destruction 'that is
their business, but we of this com
munity should look carefully before
we leap, lest the time come when we
find no place to land.
“Man is the more intellectual of the
sexes, and his will must prevail,”
vociferously proclaimed a curbstone
orator to a bunch - of downtrodden,
browbeaten and furtive looking audi
tors. His wife had juat died.
When cataloguing the frailties of,
your neighbor, it might be well to
remember that he ia probably accord-
lag you the same brand of courtesy.

A Health Record Established -
The little first-aid hospital present
ly grew to a complete modern Institu
tion with a nurses’ home and a sep
arate dispensary for dental, eye, ear,
nose, throat, genito-urlnury clinics and
a surgical dispensary for first-aid
work.
During the eight months whek -the
death rate was not affected by the In
fluenza and pneumonia epidemics the
general health rate waa 12.4 per thou
sand per year, which la lower than In
most cities lu the same latitude and
climate, and the pneumonia death rate
during the epidemic waa lower than
In moat army cantonroenta.
Much of tine success of ths health
administration is due to tbe establish
ment of the Muscle St ms Is sanitary
