married at the home of her father

of Bulnwcll. The ceremony, which
was performed by the Rev. J. L. Oates,
was witnessed by only a few close
friJnds of the contracting partie#.
immediately after the ceremony Mr.
and Mrs. Owens left for Barnwell,
where they will make their home. The
bride is an accomplished' young wo
man, who for some time pasjt has
been in charge of the Western Union
telegraph office in Barnwell, while
the groom is a well-known young man

son returned home Sunday morning
from Richmond Vn. While away Mr.
Harley and Master Emile, Jr., visited ,
New York, Buffalo, Toronto, Canada, j
and points in New Jersey.
Two trucks loaned t,o Barnwell
County by the government were mired
in the road near Springfield Satur
day while being brought to Barnwell.
The condition of the road was such
that the drivers were forced to aban
don the machines until the mud dries.
The trucks, which are Velifes, were in
charge of Messrs. Charlie Morris and
Charlie Still.
