- The marriage ia announced of Mr,
Oxis Henry Myera, of Lexington, Ky.,
and Misa Collie Lee Bates, of Black-
ville, which was aolemnixed Saturday
morning at the parsonage of the Craw,
ford Averiue Baptist Church, the Rev.
Thomas Walker officiating.
The young couple motored over to
Augusta for the purpose of having
Rev. Walker, officiate, and the cere
mony was witnessed by Mrs. Walker.
The bride was most attractive in a
traveling suit of gray broadcloth, with
hat and gloves to match.
The groom is a prominent business
man in his home city and his bride will
be heartily welcomed.
The young couple left for Columbia
and other places on their bridal trip.

Major James Tillinghast Moore, of
the United States Marines, who has
been stationed in Santo Domingo, has
returned to the United States and
spent Monday in Columbia with his
father, Adjutant General W. W. Moore.
Major Moore’s advancement has been
remarkably rapid, he having complet
ed his studies at the Citadel in 1916.
He left Monday afternoon for Quanti-'
co, Va,, where he has been assigned.
He arrived in Charleston several days-
ago. **
