In command of two platoons, Lieutenant Do
ner was painfully wounoed L the shoulder eaJy in
the anack, but he continued to lead his men, dis
playing the highest bravery and skill When his
command was held up by heavy machine-gun fire,
he disposed his men in the best cover available and
with a soldier continued forward to attack a ma
chine-gun nest. Creeping up to the position in
the face of intense fire, he killed the entire
with hand grenades and his pistol and a little
captured a number of Germans who had
refuge in a dugout nearby.

Lieut. Dozier is a native of South Carolina, being a York County boy
whose home is in Rock Hill. The above picture shows him charging and
capturing a German machine gun neat.
