Death of Mrs. N. H. Bolea. r
Mrs. N. H. Bolen died at her home
in Elko, April 25th, 1919, in the 71st
year of her age. Bom November 6,
1848, Mrs. Bolen in early girlhood
gave her life to the services of the
Baptist church. Gentleness of spirit,
kindness of heart and Christian good
ness were the virtues that endeared
!icr to every acquaintance, made her
valuable to her neighbors and bound
her children and family her wU-i

Baptist Church, where a great congre
gation was assembled to do honors
and shed tears at the burial of this
good woman. From far and near the
people had come, bearing in their
hands flowers for honor and in their
icarts a great grief for the love of the
one who had gone.
The passing of the spirit of so good
a Christian as Mrs. Bolen was, in a
way, a glorious occasion. Too true it
is that death wrings from our hearts
sobs that seem to tear at our very vi
tals; too true it is that the sting of
death is cold and cruel; too true it is
that our earthly lives suffer s great
loss when a dear one passes out of the
portals of earth and into the wide

Bamberg to Have Day Current.
Bamberg, April 26.—The commis
sioners of public works announce the
arrivals of the generator which was
recently purchased to be installed at
the Bamberg cotton mills company to
provide day current for Bamberg. The
generator will be installed within / the
next few days, and day current will
soon be a real fact in the city. It
is understood that arrangements have
been made whereby the city power
plant will be operated oh* such days
as the cotton mill will not be in op
eration. thus providing continuous day
current throughout the yeer. This will
be a great improvement for the city.
