incrqpse for 1918 as compared with
last year. The diversification idea
has taken a strong hold on most of
the farmeju and they are making
large food afd feed crops, besides rahM
ing fine hoft and cattle. Our farm
ers are fulg handed, and are able to
hold their 4>tton till the bear raid ia
over.
The soldier boys are coming in, and
they* arc being given an enthosiastk
welcome. A grand ball will be gtrm
in their honor on Dec. 26th in Kemm-
dy's hall. Sturgis’ band, of Augus
ts, will furnish the music.
Mr. R. F. Du Bose,* a former resi
dent of Williston, now of Sumter, was
in town last week. <
Mr. L. A. Greene has returned from
a two weeks trip to Florida.
Mrs. S. A. Wiae, of Aiken, paid a
short visit to relatives here last weak.
The many friends of Mrs. W. A.
B. Newsom and Miss Hattie, will be
pleased to know that they will con
tinue to make Williston their home.
Mr. Bemie Johnson a 1918 graduate
of Wofford College and who is mm
instructor of mathematics in Wofford
Fitting School, is at home for the
present on account of the “flu" quar
antine.
Mias Hattie Smith fa at home from
Lander College for the holidays.
Dr. and Mr*. Gasper Trotti are at
