The crew and passengers of
steamship arriving at New York re
ports a lively battle between naval
aviators, w'hose seaplane was forced
to descend to the ocean when the en
gine had stalled, and several sharks.
The flyers finally were saved by the
crew of the steamship.
Two large seaplanes were, noticed
by the passengers of the steamship
flying over the ocean not far from
the vessel. Suddenly one of the
planes dipped out of the sky and.
landing on the crest of a wave, was
tossed from one billow to another.
The snout of a large shark appeared
out of the water. Another and an
other followed, and the sea seemed
full of fins. The captain of the vaa-
sel ordered full speed ahead. Mean
while the pilot and observer had
doomed their life preeervera.
