interest is the fact that in Anderson,
Charleston, Cherokee, Lee, Newberry
and York Counties, which went for
Blease in 1916, the present enrollment
greatly exceeds the vote cast that
year. The greatest increase is in An
derson and Charleston Counties—the
former showing an increase of nearly
2,000 votes and the latter about 3 jKKL
Now, these figures may mean a
whole lot and they may mean noth
ing, but such a big increase in the
face of the fact that many men have
been drafted from these counties
should call for a rigid inspection of
the club rolls by the Executive Com
mittee and a close watch should be
kept on election day for a possible at
tempt at fraud.
It is rather interesting to note that
whereas the Charleston American (so-
called) shouted fraud when a mis
take was made in the date for closing
the dub rolls, the greatest increase
