Tuesday:
The campaign for governor and
other minor State officers opened
with temperate speeches and little
enthusiasm shown by the audience
of between 200 and 300 persons.
The speeches were uniformly patri
otic and breathed co-operation with
President Wilton and his adminis
tration in the prosecution of the
war.
John O. Richards and John L.
McLaurin, candidates for governor,
