Elsewhere in this issue is published
an interview with Mr. Evans, of the
Seaboard Air Line Railway, relative
to the production of castor beans by
the farmers of Barnwell County. The
government is going to need thous
ands of gallons of castor oil during
the coming months with which to lub
ricate the hundreds of aeroplanes that
we all confidently expect are going to
play such a big part in winning the
war for Democracy.
The appeal to produce the beans is
not made solely from a patriotic
standpoint—though'that should he in-
