Notice is hereby given that par*

My of the State of South Carolina
approved on the first day of March.
A. D., 1917, an election will ba held
in and for the County of Barnwell in
said State, on Tuesday, the 28th of
August, A. D., 1917’ at which elec
tion the question of establishing n
county court for said county will be.
submitted to the qualified electors of
said county.
No person shall be entitled to vote
at sain election unless it appears; (a)
That he has beep duly registered, a
production of his registration certi
ficate will be sufficient proof as to his
having been registered.
(b). He muat have paid his taxes
(including poll) collectible during the
previous year. The production of his
tax receipt from the officer authorized
to collect such taxes shall be conclus
ive proof of the payment thereof.
The managers at each poll are au
thorized and required to appoint a
Clerk who shall keep a poll list, which
shall contain a column headed “Nams
of Voters,” and the name of each
elector shall be entered by the clerk in
said column, and the said clerk shall,
before entering upon his duties take
an oath and subscribe to the oath pro
vided for^in section 30 of article 2 of
the constitution, and the oath with
regard to duelling, before the Chair
man of the Board of Managers. And
such Chairman in each instance is re
quired and empowered to administer
oaths.
The polls shall be opened at such
voting places aa shall be designated, at
7 o’clock in the forenoon, and clooo
at 4 o’clock in the afternoon of the day
of election. The managers shall ad
minister to each person offmng to
