a very hard time in the past few
months in making a living wage, due
to the greatly increased cost of print
paper and other necessary materials,
and if they are to be forced to pay in
creased postal rates in addition to pub
lishing free of cost the advertise
ments that the government shauld pay
for, they may as well shut up shop.
The margin of profit is already too

We hope that our Congressmen are
alive to the danger threatening the
newspapers and will fight an in
crease in the present rate.
