r. mm THE BARNWELL PEOPLE Entered at the poet office at Barnwell, S. (X, as eecond-claee matter. , . JOHN W. MOLMbS 1840-1912 B. P. DAVIES, Editor and Proprietor. THURSDA'Y, OCTOBER 26TH, 1916. Why is the National Board of Cen sors? x That quc«t’on is promoted l»y thi* ▼ery “raw” pictures that one very of ten sees at the movinR picture thea tres of late—pictures that are aui?- gestive in the extreme and that plant wrong ideas in the minds of young boys and girls. We have no intention of trying to place the blame—for no doubt the patrons of the movies are more to blame than the producers and exhibi tors of these questionable pictures, and the public has its remedy in its own hands. If parents would refuse to patron ize theatres that show this class of pictures and refu?f to allow their chil dren to go, the producers woulfl soon manufacture nothing but clean, moral pictures. We don't know and don’t care who compose the National Board of Cen sors; let the public be its own censor. “Villa’s Wife on Way to U. S.’’— Headline. TR'V US If Your Back Hurts or Bmdder Both ers You Drink Lots of Water. When your kidneys hurt and your back feels sore, don’t get scared and proceed to load your stomach With a lot of drugs that excite the kidneys and irritate the entire urinary tract. Keep your kidneys clean like you keep your bowels clean, by flushing them with cold water and kidneco which re moves the body’s urinous waste and stimulates them to their normal ac tivity. The function of the kidneys is to Alter the blood. In 24 hours they strain from it 500 grains of acid and waste, so we can readily understand the vital importance of keeping the kidneys active. Drink lots of water—you can’t drink too much; also get from any druggist about one dozen 5 grain kid neco tablets, take one tablet before each meal and at bedtime with aglass of water for a few days and ypur kid- rfeys will act fine. This famous reme dy is made from perfectly harmless in gredients and acts quickly and has been used for generations to clean and stimulate clogged kidneys; also to neutralize the acids in urine so it no longer is a source of irritation, thus ending bladder weakness. Kjdneco is inexpensive, cannot in jure, make no mistake, insist on kid neco which everyone should take now and then to keep their kidneys clean and active. Try this, also keep up the water drinking and no doubt you will wonder what became of your kid ney trouble and backache.—adv. Southern Stoc« Powders it a medicine and not in that class, .but your Commissioner insists that we pay the same tax. e could only do this by reducing the quality of our goods and in that way. make the consumer bear the burden. This we have refused to do, as it gi would be dishonest to our customers. Therefore, we are going to serve you direct—by mail—postage prepaid. ' THIS LICENSE LAW was made by your Commissioner: all such taxes collected are spent by his department; none of it goes to relieve fixed obligations of the State. It is an outrage to huve your stock medicine taxed. Your law makers should correct this imposition. YOUR'HORSE, COW AND HOt need a tonic sometimes. When they do, buy the best.
