this week for Macon, Ga., where they
will make their future home.

Miss Annie Mae, came down from
Washington last week to visit rela
tives in the city.
There were almost as many candi
dates here Thursday as voters. The
meeting was held in the Court House
and was very orderly throughout.

Dallis Creighton, Jack Phillips, of
Barnwell, and“Lee Brown, of Meyer’s
Mill, motored to Allendale Sunday af
ternoon.

Mr. C. L. Wooley, of Elko, was
among the visitors here Thursday. He

had the name of Mr. W. R. Bell, of

A rattlesnake measuring four feet
eight inches in length and sporting 10
rattles and a button was killed in the
yard of Mrs. Ellen Jones, at. Hilda,
about two weeks ago.
Mr. W. F. Holmes, bravely assist
ed by Sam Williams, colored, killed a
large rattlesnake on the former’s
farm last week. Mr. Holmes says
Sam “assisted” at a safe distance of
about 30 yards.
Gen. W. W. Moore, of Columbia,
was in the city last week visiting
relatives.
Messrs. Warren and Alfed Richard-,
son, of Columbia, were visitors here'
this week.
