Mr. George Halford, who live* near Barnwell, showed a representative of The People a young salamander on Monday. In general appearance it resembled a ground mole. Although they are common in Georgia it is said that they are almost unknown in this State. A bed of young ones was ploughed up in a field near the city Monday. Cotton Ginning*. There were 36,432 bales of cotton ginned in Barnwell County of the crop of 1915 as compared with 65,846 in 1914, according to a report of the De partment of Commerce on March 20. The number of bales ginned in Bam berg County was 16,690 in 1915 and 29,907 in 1914. The total for the State was 1,173,870 in 1915 and 1,560.195 in 1914.
