C., Tuesday afternoon, be- in& called home on account of the se rious illness of his sister, s Miss Ruby Armstrong had the mis fortune to break her collar bone when she fell from a horse one day last week. Fields, of Kline, was in the city one day last week. —— Mr. Angus B. Pstterson went over to Augusta Tuesday morning. Mr. W. J. Sexton went up to Co lumbia Monday on business. Mr. E. T. Richardson is spending the holidays with relatives here. C. C. Simms, Esq., was a business visitor to Columbia Thursday. Major H. W, Richardson came down from Columbia Thursday on busines. Capt. C. H. Mathis, of Blackville, was in the city on business Monday. The pendulum swings back, the days gaining two minutes in sunshine this week. Messrs. B. P. Davies and W. D. Woodward died at his home here last week, aged about 70 years. He is survived by his wife and several children. Mr. Woodward waa originally from Montmorenci in Aiken County. His successor has not yet been appointed.
