If you want to boost the town,
Bring its citizens renown,
Just mention that you saw it in this

It will help the advertiser;
It will show that you are wiser,
More considerate Than the average man

It ia just a little favor,
But it leaves a pleasant flavor
If you mention that you saw it in this

You’ll encourge local trade,
And the home town merchant aid,

Here is Some Corn Freak.
Some weeks ago we called attention
to an ear of com grown in this county
with grains on it “popped” open, like
uuto popcorn. Mayor E. C Hayes goes
one better. He has brought in a small
iear of corn which is indeed a freak,
curiosity and monstrosity all in one
breith. The ear is about five inqhes
in length, and is well filled out, but
each grain on the ear is neatly covered
with an individual shuck. There is not
an exposed grain on the ear. The
whole ear grew in a regulation shuck,
besides. This takes the prize, so far.
If anybody can beat it, we’d like to
know about it.—Bamberg Herald.

O NE of the queerest things about some people is that they will not
follow GOOD ADVICE when they KNOW they OUGHT TO.
Perhaps we are all more or less that way. All the wise men of
all ages have urged their fellow beings to PUT AWAY SOMETHING
for a RAINY DAY. Good old Benjamin Franklin’s sayings on economy
and saving alone ought to make a bank book holder of EVERY ONE.
If you have DELAYED, suppose you act HONESTLY with YOUR
SELF RIGHT NOW.
