Calhoun, of Allendale, attend ed the funeral of Mrs. Falkenstein here Monday afternoon. ^ Dr. A. B. Pattersoir and daughter, Miss BeBee, are spending some time on Sullivan’s Island. E. A. Cole left Sunday afternoon in the former’s car for Chick Springs to attend the meeting of the South Carolina Sheriff’s Association. , The Barnwell County friends of Jas per Furman, formerly of this place but now living in Los Angeles, Cal., will be interested to learn of his marriage to Miss Hazel Nicholson, of that city, on June 1st. Several Barnwell fans went oyer to Williston Friday afternoon to witness the Williston-Graniteville ball game The score was 5 to 1 in favor of the visitors, when rain broke up the game in the eighth inning. C. asparagus growers in Columbia Tuesday. Party at Fairfax. Fairfax, July 17.—Miss Ruth Wilson entertained a large number of the young folk of Fairfax and the neigh' boring towns Monday evening in honor of Miss Ruby Bryant of Orangeburg.
