W ther Man Dealt Kindly wit Williiton Team Monday. The baseball fans of Williston and Blackville should give earnest and heartfelt thanks for the heavy down, pour of rain that fell here Monday after noon and deprived the Barnwell team of the exquisite pleasure of “mopping up” with the much touted aggregation from Williston, Augusta, the Horse Creek Valley and intermediate points. Some forty or fifty automobiles, well loaded with fans, made the pilgrimage to Barnwell, after! being assured that the weather was much that no game could possibly be played. In fact, the charge has been made that the rain was sent on ahead in the safe and sane keeping of several trusty lieutenants. After the visitors had beguiled away the hours eating peanuts and ice cream and drinking “sody-pop” they went their way rejoicing, lulled by the happy thought that the weather man had rfaved them from an ignominious de feat. (On the side, it authoritatively stated that the Blackville team has eschewed baseball and has adopted "aasist ball” as their sunimer pastime.) Mrs. S. A.
