ville School closed here Friday with an
ice cream festival at 4 o’clock in the

Airs. J. W. Patterson entertained

at five tables, Mrs. I. L. Tobin winning

has secured the services of Dr. R. S.
Truesdale of Sumter to delivar the
commencement sermon at the gradu
ating exercises Sunday, June 6, at
the Methodist church. On Monday,
Juae 7, D. Pendleton Jones of Edge-
field will deliver the literary address
in the Pastime theatre before the
graduating class, the class taking part
in the exercises with music and essays.
The class of 1915 enjoys the distinc
tion of being the largest class in the
history of the high school.
Mr. Craine and his efficient corps of
teachers have been reelected for the
ensuing year.

A petition havig been filed in accor
dance with section 1742, general school
laws of 1912, notice is hereby given
that an election will be held in the
Sycamore school district No51 Saturday
May 29th, 1915, for the purpose of
determining whether or not a special
school tax one (1) additional mills shall
he levied in the above named school
district.
The said election shall be conducted
as is provided by law for the holding
of general elections. The polls will be
opened at the store of J.A. Vernon and
the following are hereby appointed
managers of election: J. A. Vernon,
B. R. Loadholt, J. A. Lightsey.
Those favoring the proposed levy
shall cast a ballot with the word “Yes’’
written or printed thereon, and those
opposing the proposed levy shall cast a
ballot with the virord “No written or
printed thereon.
