in Columbia Thursday.
A Chautauqua will be held at Barn
well next month under the auspices of
the Civic League. Full announcement
will be made in an early issue, but in
the meantime the friends of th$ Lea
gue are urged to begin making their
plans NOW to attend.
Master “Bim” Moseley, son of Mr.
S. B. Moseley, suffered painful injuries
Saturday afternoon in a runaway acci- j
dent. He was thrown from the wagon, 1
the wheel of which passed over his (
face, inflicting painful bruises. It is i
hoped that he will soon be out again. I
Mrs. R. C. Holman entertained the '
Friday Afternoon Bridge Club very
delightfully last week. After a num-

Mrs. S. B Moseley had made the high- j
est score and she was awarded the first '
prize, a beautiful crocheted centre-!
piece. Mrs. -k. Dicks cut the conso-
m lation prize, a pair of silk hose. Deli

Mr EL. H. Jenkins
Mr. E. H. Jenkins, aged 64 years,
died at his home in Kline Frklay after
so ilinass of only one week of pneu
monia. His body was laid to rest the
following afternoon in Cave's Church
yard,-the Rev; Dr. Kirby conducting
the funeral services in the presence of
a large concourse of sorrowing rela
tives and friends.
, Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife,
five daughters, Misses Annie Mae.
Odelle, Katherine, Lillian and Viola;
one son, Earle Jenkins; two brothers,
Messrs. B. M. Jenkins, Sr. and J. A.
Jenkins, Sr., and one sister, Mr*. Lr G.
Richardson, of Barnwell, who have the
sincere sympathy of a host of friends
in their sad bereavement.
