after a month's visit to Hot Springs,
Ark. His family,who accompanied him

Dunbarton, went down to Sullivan’s
Island Sunday to spend a few days at
that popular summer resort.
The editor received his first gift of
cantaloupes last week from Mr. E. R.
Cox. On Monday Mr. Bennett String-
fellow, of Elko, gave us a feast,of can
taloupes and a fine watermelon.
Miss Anna Benson has returned to
her home in Manton Mich., after a
pleasant visit, to relatives here. She
• was accompanied by Miss Veryl Holmes
mes, who will spend two months in the
North.
Miss Harriett Brunson, who has been
teaching school at Georgetown, has
returned home for the summer months.
She has been re-elected to the same
position that she has so ably filled
during the4>ast four years.
The attendance upon the present
term of court fc rather slim, the far

their crops unless it is absolute neces
sary. Many of the visitors come in au

ble.
Little Miss Blanche Porter celebrated
her ninth birthday anniversary Friday
afternoon by entertaining about 50 of
her little friends. After playing a
number of games, delicious ices and
cakes were served to the guests, who
all agree that Miss Blanche is a most
charming hostess.
