and B. M. Drummond, of Barnwell.
Mr. W. H. Mack, of BarnweU Route
No. 1, was in town Saturday and, as is
his usual custom at this time of the
year, called at this office to renew his
subscription.
Master Dan E. Hartley celebrated his
tenth birthday anniversary last Wednes-
dan afternoon by entertaining about
twenty of his little friends. Dan is the
grandson of Mr. A. P. Manville.
Mr. F. H. Anderson, returned on
Friday from a visit of several days to
his brother, Mr. M. N. Anderson, of
Tukahoe, Scriven County, Oa. This
was the first time the two brothers had

nine years ago, and the reunipn was
very pleasant occasion to them both.

Miss Mamie Holmes died at her
I home here about three o’clock yester
day morning, after long ill health. Her
I body was laid to rest'in the afternoon
at four o’clock in the old Baptist Ceme
tery. Shewas a daughter of the late
Dr. W. F. Holmes and is survived by
several-sisters and one brother.

Dr. Frank Miller, of River Junction,
Fla., stopped over in Barnwell for afew
hours Sunday afternoon with Mr. and
Mrs. J. A. Porter, while en route to At
lanta. Mr. Miller is pleasantly remem
bered in Barnwell, where he made his
.home.several years ago, and his friends
were glad to see him again.
