Buist, Esq., of Blackville, is in town this week on professional busi ness. Mr. C. F. Rizer and son, of Olar, motored up to Barnwell Monday on business. Clerk of Court W. H. Duncan, spent the week-end with his son in Fayette ville, N. C. Mr. Bennett Stringfellow, of Elko, is in attendance upon Court this week as a Grand Juror. Much needed rains have been report ed from different parts of the county in the past week. R. C. Holmag, Esq., was called to Savannah Friday morning on pro fessional business. Mr. T. J. Langley, one of the popular clerks at Porter’s, is taking a much needed rest this week. A Blackville visitor reports that the growers of cantaloupes in that section have almost finished shipping. Mr. Ed Johnson, of Atlanta, Ga., is the guest of Mr. Wyatt McNab, who is upending his vacation in Barnwell. Misses Bessie Anderson and Lena Heath, of Williston, are visiting Mrs M P. Webb in Blackville this week. The annual basket picnic will be given at B.tldoc next Tuesday, July J4th. The public is curd.ally invited.
