A Correction.
In the Supervisor’s report published
last week Claim No. 7 in favor of F. H.
Edenfield, magistrate, for $250 should
have been $25. The error was madg,
it is supposed, in transcribing the re
port from the books in the Supervisor’s
office.

A Small Blaze Friday.
An alarm of fire was given Friday
afternoon. The blaze was at the house
occupied by Supervisor G. J. Diamond
and was nothing more than a swallow’s
nest in the chimney which had caught.
It was readily extinguished w ithout any
damage to the dwelling beyond a few
shingles torn off the roof.

At the regular monthly meeting of
the Young People’s Missionary So
ciety of the Barnwell Methodist Church,
held at the parsonage on F'riday, the
13th inst. several new members were
enrolled. After the transaction of the
regular business of the meeting, de
lightful refreshments, consisting of ice
cream and cake, were served.

Halford, of Barnwell, left Sunday
morning for Charleston, where they
will spend a week visiting the historic
points in and around the old City by
the Sea and live again in the days of
the Sixties.
Mrs. Mozelle Furman and son, Mr. L.
Connor Furman, returned to Hickory,
N- C., Saturday morning after a pleas
ant virit to relatives and friends in
this county and Savannah, Ga. They
were accompanied on their return by
Miss Annie Furman, of Augusta, who
will spend some time in the Old North
State.

A little Barnweil miss was given a
verbal invitation recently to visit some
little friends in a neighboring town.
She was, however, dubious about re
ceiving the parental consent. The giv
er of the invitation assured her that
her parents wouldn't object, saying

Water and Lights for Allendale?
A man representing a light and power
company has been here this week look
ing into the prospects of establishing a
jivater works and electric light system
for this town. He is to meet Council
Friday evening with a definite proposi
tion and it i* to be hoped that terms can
be arranged and these improvements

Bought Two Bloodhound*.
Sheriff J. B. Morris received the two
oung bloodhounds last week that were
ought recently from a breeder in Lex-
ngton, Ky. The puppies are guaran-
eed to be pure bred and Capt. Morris
ought them with the evpectation of

The Barnwell baseball team won two
out of the series of three games with
Orangeburg played on the local dia
mond Wednesday, Thursday and Fri
day of last week.
The first game resulted in a victory
for Barnwell, the score being 4 to 2.
The second, a veritable swatfest, went
to the visitors, the final count being 14
to 13. The third and last was won by
the locals. The Iwirler for BarnweH
allowed only 2 hits and not a single
Orangeburg man passed second base.
