Charles Coclin, a young Greek fruit dealer, had the misfortune to break hia arm Chrl-tmas eve night while at tempting to - ive one of the large oak trees In the C role. The tree was set on lire by Roman candles and while on a ladder throwing water on the blaze Coclin lost hi* htlance and fell to the ground, breaking his left arm at the wrist. Joe Fife, colored, was lodged in jail several davs ago, charged with the theft of 3934 pounds of seed cotton be longing to Messra C C. Langley and T. D. Creighton. The cotton was stored In a barn on Mr. Creighton’s place. At the preliminary hearing, Fife waa bound oyer to the Court of General Session*. It la thought that otbera are Implicated In the robbery.
