A CORRECTION.
Last week we stated In our local oo|
urnns that Mr. A. N. Black had called
to withdraw his card as a candidate for
Magistrate at Hilda, the legislature
having at tbe last session discontinued
tbe office at that place, knowledge of
which change had come only a few
dnys before when the acts of the last
session were first received here. The
locrl mention of Mr. Black’* call was
written and put In type before the
County Democratic Executive Com
mittee had acted by resolution that tbe
candidates for tbe positions at the
places not provided for at the last
Legislative session should continue In
the pilmary. Therefore, we did nor
discontinue the eiyd announcing the
candidacies of Mr. Black and others
for the position of Magistrate at HUd*^
Baldoc Ac. It was our Intention to
leave out (he local as to Mr. Black’s
withdrawal of his card and we thought
we had done so until we discovered our
mistake on Monday of this Week. The
mistake was the editor’s and he is sor
ry for It and makes the be*t amends hs
can in this explanation, which we hope
will be satisfactory to all concerned
and hurtful to inme.
