THERE’S A DIFFERENCE
Between really £ood hats and simply £ood looking hats.
Yet most men buy their hats by the “looks"—by the
appearance of the surface. This isn’t always a safe way
to byy. For instance the appearance of
ROELOF’S HATS
is closely imitated, but the through and through quality,
never. See the new Fall Models—just arrived—every
one of distinctive character.

A CURIOUS YEAR.
1911 will be remembered at one of
the strangest agricultural years ever
known in this section of the South.
Farmers of long exporienou have noted
that it is an unusual good fortune to
make on Barnwell lands, as a whole,
full cropa of corn and cotton the aame
year. If the rain fall Is all that eorn
requires It is too much for cotton,
whirb is a sun plant that needs and re
jolcea in drv weather. While the aver
age eorn crop of the oountv haa been
disappointing some farmers have made
the laigett yields of their Uvea. The
Williamson plan of crowding the stand
sad fertilizing with a lavish hand has
been, we are told, a general failure,
while the old fa*hlnned way of giving
good distance and using liftle commer-
ci*i fertilizer bs* been a* generally sat
isfying. These results have been man
ifest on the same farms, tke pet, well
fed sera* having produced only nub
bin*, and not too many of them, while
the unfertilized fields with their live
f et rows have borne crops like they
did in-old times, or even better.
