Barents have duties as well a* teach er*. They should watch their children closely. They should especially see to it that the older pupils study their lessons at home. There are no chil dren to such a degree precocious that It is not peceasarv lor them to study, and when the parent sees t iat the pu pil I* Idle at home It Is time to act They should Investigate—go to the school room if m-ees*a r y. see how the pupil recite*, talk the matter over with the teacher and set the pupil right. One great mistake that parent* make Is dismissing the frailties of teacher* with their children. People u*e.l to believe in the divine right of kings— that king* could not err. If parents would get the moat out of schools for their children they should apply this old doctrine to the teacher of their children. Every bodv know* that all teachers err at times, but this i* not a question to be discussed bv parent and pupil. Reserve (hat subject until the children have gone to school or lo bed and then be charitable. Many parent* do not reallae that the minute the teacher is discounted in the home circle that that minute the teachers in ti uence for good over their children ceases.
