The third Annual Memorial Service
on Friday attraoted a larger a ten
dance and gave even happier pleasure
than former observances.
Of the many good works of the well
and deservedly beloved Pastor, Rev.
M. M. Benson, none, outside of oulpit
ministration, ha* been ino e helpful in
heart, more uplifting in spirit and pur
pose.
A wealtii of lovely fragrant flowers
was gently laid by tender hands upon
the last narrow homes of the unforgot-
len dead.
The addresses of Rev*. 8. P, Hair on
World Wide Missions, of Col. W. W.
Lumpkin on Memories, and Rev. Mr.
Wright of Wagoner on Prohibition
were all equally creditable to their
wise heads and good hearts, while the
tlrst pic nle dinner of the year was a
feait of an excellence unsurpassed in
recollection and that will not h* edip-

ried out very successfully elsewhere.
Soon Friday our town wa* invaded by

audience greeted them in the evening

surely must have felt repaid for the
trouble they had taken in rehearsals

all did real well the Misses Kearse ex

patch. The goodness of the hay Is

of the various school districts, (Special
Districts included,) is hereby called to
a recent act requiring alt school war
rants to be approved by the County
Superintendent of Education. The Act
Is as follows:

eral Assembly of the State of South
Carolina, That any and all school war
rants issued by any board of sclioo
trustee* against any public achool fund
shall not be paid by the county treas
urer or any other officer having the
