He has passed away, hut his memory
remain*, a treasure to hie family and
friends, a lustrous example to those
who looked to him for guidance in the
perplexit e* of theae later years. Dr.
Patterson wa* a son of the late M t. E
L. Patterson, and is survived bv five
brothers and four sisters. In IHf-O he
was married to Mis* K .thorine Alien
of Allendale bite and two little daugh
ters survive him.
In early life Dr. Patterson united
himself with the Baptist church and
lived the faith that lie professed. He
was also a member of the Masonic and
Pythian order*. His body was Drought
home to rest neside the remains of the
kindred who had fallen into the. last
sleep in the years that are no more.
On behalf of the Town of Barnwell
a delegation consisting of Messrs J K.
Snelting. W\\V. Moore. William Mr-
Nah. s. B. Moselv. C. A . Best and W
V. Richardson met the returning rel%,
lives at Florence on Monday night and
assisted In the sad home coining
On Tuesday aiternoon the funeral
services were hold In the Barnwell
Baptist church In the presence of a
great and grief stricken congregation
of those who had loved him in life and
w ho mourn his too early death.
