Mr, John William Allen, eldest son
of the late Mr. James M. Allen of Syca
more, depurtsd this life on September
23d. 1005, in the Rex Hospital. Raleigh,
N. C.. In the twentieth year of hie age,
lie had long filled the responsible
position of section master at Hamlet,
N. (J , and when attacked with typhoid
fever was caryted to Raleigh where he
received the beat medical attention of
two eminent physician* and the-ten-
derest nursing, but all in vain.

and G. W. Allen, were with him in his
heat illness and brought his body home
and after a large concourse of relative*
and friend* had paid the last tribute
of love and respect, was laid to rest in
Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
