The different members owning horses

that nearly all business came to a stand

eighteen horses. Jn every direction
were to be seen squad* of r*ear*k* with
their gay clothing flashing in the tun

This race closed the regular day’s

of a mile which four horses contested,
and which was won by Major Barker’s

A though the concourse was very
large, yet we still venture'to say that a
better behaved crowd never nivt on a
race course.
As we before remarked the day was
delightful and the view from tin' stand
was very tine. The gay colors of the
riders’ dresses contrasted beautifully
with the dark green foliage of the pines

the reflection of the groups of 'running
