about an overworked teacher for not
being able to do so. Teachers are
'more misjudged, and unappreciated
than any other class ef workers. I
have known parents In a temper to
"waylay” a teacher as she would be
going home from her work and say
many har«h. unkind and bitter worda
to her, all in the presence of her pupils,
over some fancied w rong or neglect of
her children, parents, think for a
moment how this la. Have yon the
right to do it? Does it not belittle her
in the eyes of those whom she ought to
Control? Again I have known parents
to encourage their children to run
home with tales of how dreadfully the
teacher had Heated them, and even If
they acknowledge having missed a
lesson it was hevund a shadow of a
doubt the teacher's fault Oh, parents,
do you know in this way you are teach
ing your children to be liars? The less
control parents have over their child
ren the harder It Is for teachers to con-
crnl these same pupils. I have heard
parent* admit as If It were nothing
that their children would tell lies and
yet they believe every accusation the

let me beg you to break yourself of
this habit It may cost your Imy, your
girl an education- yes, much, more—

vour children respect and obey theirj.
