Mr K. J. Redding of the Georgia
Experiment Station has found the M
lowing method of saving pea vine hvv
aatisfactory for several years:
1. The earlier they air cut the more
succulent they are and the longer the
time required to cure; hut the leaves
will shed less. If ent before In fnll

morning—Never cut when the vines are
at all wet Start the mower about V

or fence rails should be placed upright
around the centre pole, opened out at

The hay la sufficiently cured lor stor-
fng when no moisture shows on twist
ing the larger stems between the thumb
and Ungers. The vines should be
bandied as little aa possible and when
partly cured never except late In after
noon wr early In the morning. This
avoids losa of leaves.

Dear Sir r It is my painful duty to
report to your excellency that since
taking chsrge of the office of county*
treasurer for this county, and receivllig
the funds transferred from the Mccbiinis
of my father, (he lure treasurer. t«y his
executrix, that a deficiency of $8,70) 10
appears to be due by my father as coun
ty treasurer. The amounts due by him
were as follow*:
State funds ’. .$ 421.83
County funds 6,281.11
School Funds Jl,061.51
Total / $16,764.01
The amount uf funds which my fsth-

cr had deposited as county treasurer in
the Bank of Barnwell and transferred
to me on joint check of thyself- aa his
successor and his executrix, was $8 -
066.01, leaving the deficiency of $8,703.-
10 due aa above stated. My father left
an estate worth approximating, inclu
ding realty and personalty, from $<0,-
000 to $12,000, which his executrix-and
devisees desired to turn over to TK¥
sureties on bis bond to reimburse them
on their nsytng me, a« the successor of
my father, the balance due.hy him as
treasurer. _”The executrix and devisee*
have exhausted every means to r*De
the money to settle the deficiency, and
one of the bondsmen has commenced a
suit, on account of their contingent lia
bility. against the estate. The sureties
are Mr*. K. M. Kennerly and Messrs
.S. (i. Mayfield, J. W. Lancaster, C. U.
Free and P. W.Handlfer.
I now deem it my duty to call the at
tention of the State officials to the con
dition of affairs, and will bn glad to
render every assistance possible in the

three feet from the roots, and to allow
