The reunion of the United Confeder
ate Veterans of the Southern State*
will convene In Charleston on May the
10th, and will be In session four days.
In order that we may be able to enter
tain them we are assessed bacon, flour,
meal, grits, butter, potatoes and eggs.
I have been appointed a member of
the executive committee, to solicit tub
scriptions Irom the people of BarnweR
County. It boa never been my pleas
ure to engage In a more meritorious
work, a work that shoald appeal to ev
ery eltisen, and tbiough a deep sense
of duty should feel hound to respond;
and it makes no difference how small
your contributions may be. they will
be appreciated by those whose ranks
