makes us feel as if this were our home.
We finished our examinations Tues

clipping away from a degr friend to
prepare a surprise for her, for you

We were permitted to make frequent
visits down town, and many myste
rious looking little packages were
brought back. X<->t more'than forty of
the students went home ami they lived
within ten or lltteen milts from here.
On Friday boxes began coming In

The muaic department gave a concert
on Friday nigbt to the delight of every
one. and we recurved our friends after

' On Saturday morning we were given
some holly t<» decorate our rooms with,
and. after putting things to rights, we
spent the day getting our presents
ready fo*- the Christmas tree. Miss
Wlokllffe and five other member* of the
faoultv were assisted by a committee
from the senior class In getting the tree
ready. The teachers had worked hard
to get up a surprise for us, and we
knew it would be a success, for what

We waited eagerly for the appointed
time to come. We had a short pro.
gramme before the curtain rolled up
sllaeloslng the tree. Thl* programme
-consisted of songs, recitations and read
ings, and wa« a very interesting one.
Afterward the light* were turned olf,
the curtain slowly rolled no, and be*

mas tree I ever saw. We felt a's If -we
* were In fairy laud. How It sparkled in
• the soft blue and red light*. In the
midst of our admiration the door he

presents, and among the first was a
