Mr. Willie Yarn, who lived a little
below Folk’s Mill in Colleton county,
died last week from Injuries received
from a cow, which he had separated
from her first calf and was try ing to
gentle. The maddened animal, which
had no horns, threw him Into the air

he could recover blitted him viciously,
injuring hu »plne so that he never
ruovt d again, although surviving a
week, and continuing able to talk, lie

liis sojourn in Atlanta that he began
the study of law; his hours for reading
were after liis lalrors of the day had
been perfeymed and like many energet
ic and ambitious young men before
him, “he burnedjtbe midnight oil.’’ Ills
admission to the Bar was a most cred
itable one and Tie then returned . home
aud located at A^J ndale for the prac
tice of the legal profession. Although
his career as a lawyer was brief, he
conducted the business entrusted to his
eaie with promptness and ability. Ibis
heart was evidently not In the w'ork he
had cutout lor himself and realizing
tliis lie discontinued the practice
lie subsequently beoaino connected
with the Allendale Bank ns Cashier
and filled that position with rare abil
ity and devot'on. No young man
rai ed In “old Barnwell’’ was more
highly thought of and generally liked

temperament bright aMd cheerful, he
wa* an'interesting companion and as
