A farmer and a stock raiser of con
siderable experience has furnished the
follow ing prescription aud directions
for the treatment of hog v cholera,
which, if carefully carried out, w ill, he
asserts, prove infallible:
Arsenic, half a pound; cape aloc«t
half a pound; blue vitrtof, one-fourth
of a pound : black antimony,one ouqce.
Grind and mix well before using. The
following are the directions to be fol
lowed to make the mixture efficacious :

ted from well ones, and placed iu dry
pens with only five or six large hogs iii
each pen.
Feed with dry food only and give no
water or liquid except tire slop contain
ing the medicine. »
When the hogs refuse to ei)t turn
them upon their backs, and by-’means
of a long handle spoon put the medi
cine down thelr Ahroats. •
Dose for large hogs: One tcaspoon-
f ul three times a day for three days.
Then skip a Uqy and repeat amount till

amount. ,
